Google has started construction on a new $1bn (£789m) data centre on a 33-acre site at Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire to help meet growing demand for AI and cloud services from businesses across the UK.
Jeremy Hunt (UK Gov Chancellor of the exchequer) said “every growing economy relies on data centres…..to support the industries of the future.”
